Umhlanga-based dealer receives Mercedes-Benz South Africa Dealer of the Year honours

Pretoria/ Mercedes-Benz Umhlanga has been announced the winner of the prestigious ‘Chairman's Award’ at the Mercedes-Benz South Africa (MBSA) Dealer of the Year 2011 Awards function held on the weekend. Mercedes-Benz Umhlanga was selected by the MBSA CEO, Dr Hansgeorg Niefer, as the company's top-performing dealership for having demonstrated the highest achievement and superior performance excellence.
“Mercedes-Benz Umhlanga sets itself apart by consistently applying the ‘stretch principle’,” says Niefer.
The Chairman’s trophy is MBSA’s ultimate recognition for retail standards that are not only met consistently, but surpassed. Various operations are closely scrutinised, including:
• Sales performance against target
• Service and sales customer satisfaction index (CSI) performance
• Pre-owned performance
• Parts sales performance against target
• Finance penetration
• Insurance performance
• Retail performance regarding value-added products
• Pre-owned financials
• BBBEE scores

The Chairman’s Award is the ultimate accolade to be bestowed on any dealership in the Mercedes-Benz SA dealer network. Competing for the Chairman’s Award, are all four brand centre category winners, together with the four independent and four market centre category winners.
Brand centres are major metropolitan dealerships which represent exclusively any one brand from the Mercedes-Benz SA stable, providing in all the customer services including sales, servicing, parts, financing and merchandising. The market centres and the independent dealerships represent more than one brand in a particular region.
